Be Part of the DSJ's Future
As our school continues to grow and evolve, so too must our facilities. We are excited to launch this vital campaign to redevelop our main entrance and drop-off area, a project designed to significantly improve safety, streamline daily routines, and create a welcoming first impression for all who arrive at our school. This project includes:
- Dedicated lanes for efficient pick-up and drop-off.
- Separated pedestrian walkways for enhanced safety.
- Improved signage and clear guidance for visitors.
- Sustainable landscaping that complements our natural surroundings.
Partner with us and support our Social Fund
For many years, the Deutsche Internationale Schule Johannesburg (DSJ) has provided excellent educational opportunities to motivated young people, regardless of their financial or social background. As a school of cultural encounter, we believe every learner should have the opportunity to develop their talents and reach their full potential.
While the Federal Republic of Germany supports the DSJ in providing school fee reductions to families in need, many additional costs remain, including uniforms, stationery, class trips and meals. Providing one learner with a warm lunch every school day costs just R600 per month.
To help meet these needs, the DSJ established its Social Responsibility Fund in 2015. The Fund supports learners and families facing financial challenges and is managed by a committee of representatives from across the school community.
We warmly invite individuals and companies to support the Fund through a once-off or regular donation, no matter the amount. Every contribution makes a meaningful difference and helps ensure that our learners have the support they need to thrive.
We guarantee that all donations are used exclusively for the benefit of the children concerned.
Sportolympiade in Hermannsburg
Every two years, learners from the five German schools in Southern Africa come together for the Sportolympiade, one of the highlights of the school sporting calendar. In March 2027, 55 athletes and coaches will proudly represent the Deutsche Internationale Schule Johannesburg (DSJ) at the 20th Biennial Sportolympiade, hosted by Deutsche Schule Hermannsburg in KwaZulu-Natal.
The Sportolympiade is about more than competition. It gives our learners the opportunity to challenge themselves, build lasting friendships, experience teamwork and sportsmanship, and represent the DSJ with pride. To help ensure that our Team DSJ athletes are fully equipped and able to participate, we are appealing to our community and corporate partners for support.
Sponsorship will help cover:
- Return transport between Johannesburg and Hermannsburg
- Official Team DSJ Sportolympiade kit
- Catering for athletes and coaches during the week-long event
The approximate cost of supporting one athlete is R6,500.
Whether you sponsor an individual athlete, contribute towards transport or catering, or support specific items such as tracksuits, shirts, travel bags, backpacks, caps or swimming equipment, every contribution makes a meaningful difference.
Companies sponsoring specific items will receive logo visibility on the sponsored items, as well as recognition through DSJ Sportolympiade communications and social media. We would also be pleased to discuss customised sponsorship opportunities.
