Global Recognition
Thank you for your interest in our school and for visiting our website.
The DSJ is a comprehensive school offering both the IEB South African National Senior Certificate (Matric) and the German International Abitur.
In addition to focusing on learning the German language, culminating in the acquisition of the two language diplomas (DSD I and DSD II), our school also welcomes and integrates learners whose mother tongue is not German at various grade levels.
The Regenbogen-Kids with its Integrated Kindergarten Phase (i-K Phase) provides young children the opportunity to learn the language and immerse themselves in a German-speaking environment.
Another option is available in Grade 5, where the Integrated Secondary School (ISec) allows learners whose first language is not German to learn the language intensively and smoothly transition into secondary school in subsequent years. Additionally, learners can join the DSJ in Grade 8, in the English Medium High School and learn German as a foreign language.
This unique approach fosters exceptional diversity and promotes mutual understanding and tolerance. Our school community includes approximately 1,000 students who speak over 40 different languages, represent over 36 nationalities, and reflect over 35 religious affiliations.
The DSJ is committed to excellence in teaching and learning, preparing our learners to navigate a globalized world as confident, open-minded, and multilingual individuals.
