For the 7th consecutive year, the Regenbogen-Kids donned their topes and supported the Sunflower Fund’s Sunflower Day.

The Sunflower Fund promotes public awareness of Leukaemia and other chronic blood disorders through national education and awareness campaigns. The fund aims to recruit blood stem cell donours for the South African Bone Marrow Registry and increase the number of donours on the registry to 400 000.

The cost of tissue typing blood samples is R2 500 per person and the Regenbogen-Kids raised just over R10 000 this year, which will aid The Sunflower Fund’s drive.

A big thank you goes out to Frau Helmrich, who without hesitation allowed me to support The Sunflower Fund and who has always contributed towards the fund herself. To all parents, my colleagues, staff and Chrissie Giessen-Hood: your support is highly appreciated and without you this would not have been possible!
