This state-of-the-art facility is designed to provide our learners with a dynamic platform for deeper learning and exploration.
The Innovation Centre is also the proud new home of DSJ’s Robotics teams, offering them the space and resources to work on multiple projects simultaneously—something our old facility could not accommodate. Robotics is offered free of charge to all learners of the DSJ, as an extramural activity.
This centre represents a significant milestone in our commitment to fostering creativity, critical thinking, and technological skills among our students. It is equipped with cutting-edge technology and flexible workspaces that will inspire innovation and collaboration. The Innovatium will enable cross-curricular learning through various projects that teachers can bring their learners to engage in. By integrating multiple subjects into cohesive projects, students can make meaningful connections between disciplines, enhancing their understanding and application of knowledge in real-world contexts.
Research supports the benefits of cross-curricular learning. According to educational consultant Michelle Connolly, “Integrating multiple subjects within a single lesson plan not only enriches learning, but simulates the interconnected nature of the real world, offering a more profound educational experience”. This approach has been shown to improve student engagement and comprehension.
